Welcome to Mount Saint Mary’s University Los Angeles! The Office of Orientation proudly welcomes our newest Athenians as they join the Mount community and begin their journey toward becoming unstoppable. Through engaging events, programs, and resources, our team helps new students transition to life at the Mount by connecting them with campus resources, faculty, staff, and fellow students while building a strong foundation for success.

Athenian Experience

Get ready for an unforgettable start to your Mount journey! The Athenian Experience is a two-day event designed to help you feel confident, connected, and excited as you officially become part of the Mount Saint Mary’s University community.

This event is required for all first-year and traditional transfer new students. For transfer BSN students, it is highly encouraged to attend Athenian Experience but it is not required.

Join us for a two-day celebration designed to kick off your semester with energy, essential info and new friendships as you get to know our campus, connect with faculty and future classmates, and dive into student life before classes start.

This event is required for all new students.

Registration opens in late spring.

Join the Athenian Mentor Program!

Find your mentor

The Athenian Mentorship Program is designed to provide incoming students with a strong peer support system to help ease the transition to life at The Mount.

As part of the program, you will be paired with a peer mentor who will support you throughout your first semester. Mentors provide individualized one-on-one check-ins, guidance, and encouragement as you navigate your Mount experience. They are here to answer questions, connect you with campus resources, and serve as a familiar and supportive face in your journey as a new Athenian!

Athenian Experience is a two-day welcome event held at our iconic Doheny Campus, designed to help you feel confident, prepared, and connected as you officially begin your journey at Mount Saint Mary’s University. During this experience, you will meet your Orientation Leaders, learn about campus resources and opportunities for involvement, connect with fellow students, and create meaningful memories as you start your time at the Mount.

New Student Orientation is a MANDATORY event for all incoming new and transfer students. The event will take place from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. If you cannot attend, please indicate in your RSVP form and our team will reach out to you to make alternative program arrangements.
