Heritage Society

For donors who have included The Mount in their will or legacy plans.

The Heritage Society recognizes and honors alumnae, friends, faculty and staff who continue the tradition of support that is the foundation of Mount Saint Mary's University. These donors have named the Mount as a beneficiary in their will, trust or beneficiary designation. In doing so, they have created a lasting legacy for themselves and for the University.

To show the Mount’s appreciation to those who support the University through a legacy gift, Heritage Society members receive lifetime benefits.

For more information, contact Maria Solano, Associate Director of Philanthropic Advising.

How to participate:

You can reserve your Legacy Landing paver with a special message from your family, ensuring that your priorities become your legacy at the Mount in perpetuity:

  • With a $6,000 pledge to the Mount Fund (payable over three years) and an irrevocable bequest of at least $40,000 to any Mount priority you choose
  • With a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) at the Mount, starting at $25,000 and the remainder designated to the Mount Fund
  • By naming Mount Saint Mary’s as owner and beneficiary of a Whole Life Insurance Policy (minimum of $100,000)
  • By opening a Donor Advised Fund and naming the Mount as at least 50% remainder beneficiary
  • With a gift of life estate, also known as retained life estate, by donating your property to the Mount and continuing to live in it
